Part two of the Homestuck Horns Tutorial I first did. It only took me about a year to get it to people but I hope it's okay! Again my descriptions and English is atrocious but I hope It's enough for people to understand.

Thank you everyone who has shown interest in them! I hope this helps.

Have any questions? Our F.A.Q. is here: [link]

I will try super glue.

My fifth adhesive failed today, and now I'm looking at tutorials as I will be on location this weekend for a 413 city larp.

OMFG IT WORKED THANK YOU. In my most recent deviation ("4-11-13 News") I tagged this in the comments as being a great help. I was desperate, and RIGHT NOW, 12+ HOURS LATER, THE HORNS. ARE STILL. ATTACHED.

You are an angel. Don't let anybody tell you otherwise.

Eek, I attempted this with Crayola Air-Dry clay and lemme tell ya, you better be sure you cut the bottom of the horn correctly before it dries. But besides my own idiocy, thank you very much for the great tutorial!

umm I have two quick question if you don't mind. One is about the acrylic paints, I'm kind of on a low budget and I was wondering how much the paint you're using for the horns actually cost, and if there's any alternative paint I could possibly use and still keep that good quality look. And second is I'm cosplaying Kurloz and I was wondering if you could tell me exactly how big you make the horns, or at least a guess of how big I should make them.

I use a rather odd choice, but it's super cheep to get all the colors.

Get watercolors (tubes or cakes, I prefer tubes). Mix with one of these:
-thick corn sugar/white homemade cake icing
-white acrylic
-a thin layer of clay

if using the first, coat with a clear layer. I have never had a need to do so for the latter two unless it was raining at the event. (Never used it for horns, but for previous cosplay headgear I often did this.)

NO, the first mixture is not a bug attractor if coated with lacquer or sealant. I still have a helmet with deco work from six years ago, left on a shelf, and have not had a problem.

Hey! The thing with acrylic paints is you pay for quality. The Folk Art brand I use is about 1-3$ per bottle but I use very little of it at a time because they're a nice thick paint. So I put about two coats of orange then add the yellow and darker orange and there's still a lot left. I've done about 11 sets on just one bottle[ I run out of mid-orange fastest because I use it the most]. You don't want watery acrylic paints because you'll end up using the whole bottle just trying to get an even coat of paint.

For Gamzee, I usually make them about 6 inches but for Kurloz, you could go for about 7-8 but keep the base thick to hold most of the weight. I roll them straight first, then curve it. It's always better though, to compare it to your head to make sure they look decent!

I hope that helps!

I made some gamzee horns following this tutorial. They came out looking great. My only problem was once I put the headband onto realized that the horns weighed a ton! The head band keeps sliding off due to the weight of the horns. Help?
